I just finished a project, in my current role as Graphic Designer for Legal Concierge, Inc. This promotional tri-fold brochure was the first print collateral piece I have designed for them, and we really worked hard to make sure the brand messaging was aligned with our companies vision. The completion of this project was so validating for me as a creative. I take pride in seeing my projects through to the end, and there were moments when the concept development fell flat. It is important to always see your work as a process, when a design is not hitting the mark, then shift gears and consider the why and the how. I had been through a few revisions, trying new colors, fonts and brand aesthetic. When I stepped away from the office and took an adventurous vacation, that was when the whole design came into focus. It is remarkable and ironic, how the creative brain never fully disengages. Upon seeing some tourist literature, and analyzing how the information and juxtaposed images told a story, I sat down and sketched out by hand the whole design layout for this brochure in less than an hour. Even better, I knew it was the solution that we needed.
A second victory for this project came when I stumbled across an excellent print shop here in Plano, Texas; Accelerate Print Group. Since this brochure was being edited for image selection and copy changes over nearly a week, we required a fast turnaround to get it printed in time for an event. Thanks to Accelerate Print Group, they gave me a color proof on the same day I came in to inquire. I had been to two other well known vendors prior, but they had a great glossy card stock paper that we liked and were able to process our order in one business day. I am sure we will come back to them again for more orders in the future.
